And those rims are absolutely atrocious. The 2006 911 is a good looking car, but man, who designed those?

Lobster claws, and they’re a fucking bitch to clean. My Cayman came with ‘em, I curse like a madman every time I have to clean the rims (I’d love to have the designer drop by and let him wash his handiwork).

Not my style, but it seems almost era appropriate

Plastic blow up chairs were also era appropriate, but that doesn’t make them good.

They look fucking great, now close your mouth until tomorrow.

If that's what stops you buying a Porsche.... Drive it again.

I love those! “Lobster claws” as Mid Engine mentioned. They’re the quintessential 997 wheel. They were the Carrera S wheels I think, and they look nicer than the very similar non-S ones IMO. They do seem to be a hot topic in 997 circles. I would kill for a 997 Carrera S!

Oh yes, it’s absolutely not my income, savings, spouse, or living in rural Canada that are stopping me from buying it.

Not my favorites (they’re no Twist), but still better than most of the rims sold today with even busier designs. A lot of them aren’t even symmetrical. These at least attempt to be 5-spokes.

Good! Glad we cleared that up. So like next month? In the summer?

I love them

what are you talking about, the lobster claws were awesome wheels! but they are 100% better IRl then in photos

I’m not usually put off by rims, but those are pretty ugly.

Huh, I positively love the lobster claw rims.

We all know what the sexist wheels for the 997 are

Oh it could be much worse...

At least they’re all one color. Years from now future Jalops will lament the malaise era of wheel design - black paint on the inside, silver face on the outside. It’s used repeatedly by every damn manufacturer, and I’m sick of it
Bring back the monotone wheel!

Personally i like them a lot. Although i hate the “turbo twist” wheels that many are nuts for.

Yep, the ol’ “Lobster Forks”. Definitely the ugliest wheel option for the 997.

Yeah, LobsterClaw wheels are pretty much my least favorite Porsche wheel.
The nice thing is... there are lots of good OE take-offs, and aftermarket wheels for these cars.
TechArt Formula, or Monoblock 52Outlaw 001 wheels would look great on that car.
narrow-body 996s and 997s just seem like they could use a cool, modest horizontal whale-tail spoiler... FiberWerks used to make one, but I don’t think they do anymore.

I’m not stalking you. At least I don’t think I am. :-)x
There are only 2 designs in all of Porsche history that I don’t like.
The tail lights on the original R
And the wheels you post
. Terrible.

No worries, if you were stalking me, at least you’re a bit more polite than the last one.
